What Makes a Novel Feel Real?

In my novels, I blend real places and historical events with characters and narratives of my own creation to craft a world that feels authentic and immersive. By grounding the story in actual locations and time periods—whether it's a forgotten event, a Caribbean Island, or the deck of a sailboat—I give readers a tangible sense of place and history. At the same time, I weave in original characters, imagined dialogue, and hidden plots to explore the emotional truths that facts alone can’t reach. This fusion of reality and fiction not only enriches the storytelling but also draws readers deeper into the world, making them feel as though they’re uncovering a forgotten chapter of history alongside the characters.
